Boys Grow Farm Fest

We’re bringing The Prospect KC Bakery to Boys Grow’s annual Farm Fest! Come enjoy our fresh baked goods and coffee (the same delicious treats you know and love from The Nook) while supporting an incredible day of community fun for everyone!
About Farm Fest: An all-inclusive ticket gets you entry to the farm with unlimited bites & drinks from an array of local eateries and a day filled with family friendly fun. Farm Fest 2025 is made special by the active involvement of BoysGrow youth in the event's preparation and execution, showcasing the 3 core teams that BoysGrow employs: Agriculture, Culinary Arts and Construction.
Boysgrow is a 501(c)(3) organization with the mission to mentor urban youth through agricultural entrepreneurship. Teenage boys commit to our two-year program where they learn vocational skills and it is often their first paid job. Every year, BoysGrow hosts new events where all proceeds go towards programming and youth employment costs. Learn more about us at www.boysgrow.com
Heartland Book Festival
Enjoy our coffee and treats from The Nook!
On October 11, the 3rd Heartland Book Festival offers a full day of programming for readers and writers of all ages. Enjoy author talks, panel discussions, workshops, storytimes, book signings, regional vendors, food trucks, and more.
Admission is free, but entry tickets are required. Seating for individual events and activities is available first come, first served until spaces reach capacity.

This is Giving Hope & Help’s 13th Annual Feminine Hygiene Period Products Drive. It also includes a NonProfit and Small Business expo.
The event allows us to share with the community and neighbors our mission to fight food insecurity and inequity in Kansas City. Come learn how you can #KeepUsCooking!
Pars for Purpose Golf Tournament: A Day on the Greens for a Greater Good
Join us for the Inaugural 'Pars for Purpose’ Golf Tournament, benefitting The Prospect KC and Nourish KC.
Your participation and sponsorship will fuel vital programs that fight food insecurity, support culinary workforce development, and create equitable opportunities in Kansas City.

CommUNITY Fest 2025
The Prospect KC Catering will be providing Breakfast and Lunch!
Join United Way of Greater Kansas City for a day of impact. CommUNITY Fest, presented by Delta Air Lines, is a reimagined Day of Caring that harnesses the power of volunteers to advocate, volunteer and celebrate impact in our community. Volunteers will have the opportunity to meet and interact with more than 50 nonprofit partners.
When registering for CommUNITY Fest presented by Delta Air Lines, you can choose to stay onsite at Zhou B Arts Center and learn more about advocacy, network with nonprofit partners and participate in onsite volunteer activities like bracelet making and kit packing. If you choose to volunteer at one of our nonprofit partners, you will meet at Zhou B Arts Center and take a bus to your nonprofit location. All volunteers will start the day and end the day together at Zhou B Arts Center to celebrate making a positive difference in Kansas City.
Hunger Action Month
All Month Long!
Every September, Hunger Action Month calls on people across the country to take a stand against food insecurity. Here, in Kansas City, that call hits closer to home.
Right now:
1 in 7 people in KC don’t know where their next meal is coming from.
Many of our neighbors are working full time and still can’t afford groceries.
Food waste continues while families go without fresh, nourishing meals.
At The Prospect KC, we believe food should be more than filling, it should be fuel for change. That’s why this month, we’re turning action into impact one meal, one volunteer shift, one donation at a time.

The Prospect KC UnGala
Theme: Fried Chicken and Champagne
About the Event: The UnGala is a fresh, community-focused take on traditional galas. It’s a party with a purpose that encourages networking, celebrates local talent, and raises critical funds for The Prospect KC’s mission. The event will feature Live Entertainment by Julia Hale, Open Bar & Elevated Apps, Creative Networking, a Dance Party, a Purple Carpet to walk upon your arrival with interviews hosted by Power 105.1’s Shay Moore, and more!
Dress Code: This is a cocktail party with flair. Think sequins, sneakers, silk, and self-expression — but leave the tux at home. Shine in your own way.
GA: Open Bar, Elevated Apps, and Live Entertainment.
VIP: Open Bar, Elevated Apps, Access to the VIP Lounge, Champagne Flight Experience from 7-8 p.m. & complimentary activations.

The Prospect KC’s 3rd Annual Gumbo Fest
About the Event: Join us for the 3rd Annual Gumbo Fest, a celebration of community resilience, and culinary excellence! Inspired by The Gumbo Coalition by Marc Morial, President of the National Urban League and former Mayor of New Orleans, this event brings together food lovers, local chefs, and businesses for a day of delicious gumbo, live music, and fun.
Gumbo Ideology: Explore the rich history and philosophy behind gumbo, a symbol of adaptation through struggle and resistance.
Event Activities: Enjoy live music performances, gumbo tastings, and more throughout the day.
